This last week, I’ve really been feeling the love from the IBD community, for two main reasons:

I truly mean it when I say that the IBD community are some of the strongest people I know, and I am always honoured to be a part of it. Having a digestive disease (any kind, not just IBD) can be devastating to not just the person suffering, but the family and friends of that person.

It’s incredible how one certain part of the body can have such an effect over not just the rest of the body, but the mind too. The latter of these two, however, doesn’t have to be negative. There’s an inner strength that can often be found after battling a chronic illness, something that I never had before, nor would have had if I’d never gone through what I did. I think that’s why the IBD community is so powerful, because we empathise with each other and share each other’s courage, and where some of us are struggling, the others can use their newfound strength to help them along the way.

Big love to you guys, you’re amazing, you’re strong, and never forget it.
