It’s that time of year again where I reflect on the last year, and think about setting myself some new goals. While I think we’re all glad that 2016 is over, it’s been a pretty interesting year for me – the biggest thing being my second surgery to have a permanent colostomy back in May. While there was a temporary flare up of my Crohn’s disease, it now seems to be under control again and I’m back to symptomatic remission. Phew.
So generally, 2016 has been full of ups and downs, but I’m ending the year on a high.
So what’s for 2017?
I want this year to be different. In the past, at the end of every year, I’ve always set myself some goals. Historically, however, February comes round and most of my goals get ignored, and by March I always seem to forget that the goals even existed in the first place. Not this year. I don’t want that to happen in 2017.
I want 2017 to be the year of determination.
Determination to be more focused.
Determination to be more creative.
Determination to be more consistent.
Determination to see things through to completion.
Determination to try new things, no matter how scary they may be.
With that in mind, I’ve decided to write down my goals for 2017 and I want to review them each month.
My Goals for 2017
- Complete at least one cycle of Beachbody’s Focus T25
- Use that bloody rowing machine for its proper purpose, not as a clothes horse
- Get back to daily vlogging¹
- Make Ostomonday videos again²
- Blog more to elaborate on my videos
- Clear out the garage, and generally keep on top of tidying
- Cook more³
Now that my body has fully recovered from my last surgery in May, it means I can really start looking after it. Eating less rubbish, exercising and building strength, and generally rewarding it instead of punishing it. I want to really up my game in terms of fitness and health, and I’ll of course be photoblogging it on Instagram, if you want to follow: @turbothaila
Roll on 2017!
¹While I’ll be vlogging daily, the finished videos will still be uploaded weekly – I just mean that I’ll film something every day throughout the week so that I actually have something to upload at the end of the week!
³By ‘cook’ I mean actually cook, not just bang a load of vegan sausages in the oven. I mean actual recipes with real, whole ingredients.
