Re-Introducing Exercise After a Long Break

Well, I’ve located my fitness DVDs out of the many boxes we had in the garage after moving house. Therefore, I’ve decided that I’m going to re-introduce exercise back into my routine as of this week (week 3 of my ‘Holy Shit, I Need to Lose Weight’ challenge – official name TBC…)

I need to work myself back up again after such a long break off from any form of exercise, so I’m starting with something nice & low impact – a combination of walking and Hip Hop Abs. The walking will then progress to jogging and then to running, and the Hip Hop Abs will progress to Focus T25 (although I’m not putting any timings on those just yet, as I don’t want to pressure myself).

I’m going to aim to start off with 2-3 workouts per week, and build up from there. I am so shit at running, so it’ll take me quite a while to get into a good routine with running, but I’ve got the RunKeeper app so I’m hoping that will keep me motivated.

I LOVE Shaun T, so the progression from Hip Hop Abs to Focus T25 will be pretty easy for me to stay motivated on. I just need to remember not to rush myself and take each day at a time.

I just now need to dig out my Polar FT4 watch and chest strap and I’ll be good to go!
